Rescued animals take next steps and will be available for adoption in Maine

The animals will be moved to the following Emergency Placement Partners of The Humane Society of the United States in Maine, Ohio and West Virginia, where they will receive care and have time to heal before they get the second chance they deserve:

  • Maine: Greater Androscoggin Humane Society
  • Ohio: Citizens For Humane Action Animal Shelter, Cleveland Animal Protective League, Humane Society of Greater Akron
  • West Virginia: Preston County Animal Shelter

Following the rescue of 69 animals from unsafe and unsanitary conditions in Gallia County, Ohio, the puppies and dogs are recovering and preparing for placement into new, loving homes.

Kim Alboum, director of the EPP program for The HSUS said: “Our Emergency Placement Partners are a crucial element in The Humane Society of the United States’ efforts to rescue abused animals. Our partners are ready to get these cruelty survivors started on the next part of their journey.”

The HSUS is providing financial assistance to the groups to help with initial costs.
