A Pug has adopted an abandoned litter of tiny two-week-old kittens.
The kittens was born in a London stairwell and abandoned by their mother, and had a hard start in life until they were taken to Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, where they met Peppa the Pug.
Peppa was also a stray and arrived at Battersea in April, it staffed at the charity feared and had been used for backstreet breeding, as her body showed signs of having had several litters and she also had mastitis.
It is being fostered by Battersea’s canine behaviourist and training advisor, Louise Taylor. When Louise brought the kittens, Conker, Pickle, and Pumpkin — who were only a day old when they were found — into her home for fostering, Peppa decided the tiny trio was her responsibility.
The kittens spend their time snuggled close to protective Peppa in her basket while she washes and takes care of them.
All three kittens have new homes awaiting them when they are old enough to be adopted.
