The Norwegian forest cat is called “skogkatt” in its native land of Norway. “Skogkatt” means “forest cat.” This naturally occurring breed goes back in history almost 4,000 years, to when it’s said that the cats traveled with Vikings and kept rats off their ships.
Winter Is Coming
Originating in Norway, this breed is built for cold climates. Their fur is waterproof and double insulated to help them withstand harsh weather during their native Scandinavian winters.
